WEB LITERACY

Many people use the web comfortably and intuitively on a daily basis for both work and leisure. Doing so, nevertheless, requires an understanding of how to both

read and edit the web. Just as with traditional literacy, this ‘web literacy’ is

something that people can get better at over time.

                                                                            - Mozilla

With 3.17 billion internet users globally (InternetLive Stats, 2016), the amount of web content           is tremendous.  Absolutely essential in         navigating this realm is web literacy.           Mozilla (n.d.) defines this as the "skills             and competencies needed for reading,         writing and participating on the Web".

As one of the main consumers of the            web, students harness its power to              research projects, share social media,          and play games to name a few.  Now            at even young ages, they can also participate in web creation through coding, programming and everything in between.
